The three-way switch is what sold me, honestly. Being able to drop it to the lowest setting for late-night reading without blasting the whole room is exactly what I needed, and the metal base feels sturdy rather than flimsy.

I've got this on my nightstand and the three-way setting is perfect — low for reading in bed, bright when I'm actually looking for something. The metal base has a nice solid weight so it doesn't tip when I bump the cord.

The three-way switch is the whole reason I picked this up, and it actually works nicely for going from a dim glow to full brightness without touching a dimmer. The metal base feels sturdier than the price suggests.
